Training the Next Generation
of Emerging Artists
THE NEW WORLD | May 22-24 at 7PM, Wasaga Beach RecPlex
In 2026, Theatre Collingwood launched the Teen Conservatory, a 12-week intensive for high school students ready to advance their performance skills in a focused, supportive, and creatively challenging environment. Auditions took place in March and the spring program is now in full swing. Students receive training in acting, singing, and movement, while exploring character development, ensemble work, and the creation of original material. Guided by professional theatre artists, participants are developing confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of collaboration

Authentic artistic voice
Students draw on their own perspectives and lived experiences to develop as genuine, confident artists.

Teamwork
Working closely with professional mentors, students build the habits and ensemble skills that define great theatre.

Personal growth
Communication, resilience, and self-confidence are woven through every week -alongside meaningful peer connections.

Building foundation
A stepping stone toward future arts studies for some and a transformative creative outlet for all.
The spring program culminates in a fully staged public performance. Be sure to get your tickets and experience this exciting new work created by the next generation of performers. Stay tuned for auditions for our next session later this year.
An original, high-energy production from the Theatre Collingwood Teen Conservatory, The New World blends storytelling, music, and movement to imagine a future shaped by artificial intelligence—and the youth-led resistance pushing back. Directed by Nadia Hovan, this bold debut showcases the creativity and talent of the next generation of performers.
